FIELD MANUAL / OPERATION BREAKWATER

LESS READING.
MORE RUNNING.

Move with one stick. Aim with the other. Everything dangerous gives you a warning. The rest, you’ll learn on the beach.

01 / GET CONNECTED

A GAMEPAD.
A LITTLE DETERMINATION.

A dual-stick gamepad with triggers and shoulder buttons is our recommended way to play. Movement and aiming stay independent, so you can backpedal out of trouble while keeping your shots on target.

Keyboard and mouse work too. Aim past the enemy with the mouse: your reticle marks a point in the world.

01

Make landfall.

Choose your difficulty and start Operation Breakwater. Begin with the unlimited-ammo Vanguard rifle.

02

Push the line.

Clear each sector to open the next gate. Keep moving, dodge warning zones and use the checkpoint.

03

Get everyone out.

Defeat the Breakwater Goliath, then bring every active operator to the extraction pad.

A dual-stick gamepad is recommended on every platform; keyboard and mouse are also supported. The downloadable beta currently runs on Windows. Linux and macOS builds, graphics settings and lower-end hardware checks are still ahead, so these targets may change as testing progresses.

02 / KNOW YOUR BUTTONS

BUILT FOR TWO STICKS.

With auto-fire enabled, pushing the aim stick fires. Let it return to center to stop. The trigger still fires manually.

On a small screen, swipe the table sideways to compare controller layouts.

Make it work for you.

Options includes keyboard and controller remapping, swapped sticks, aim-assist strength, 30-degree snap aiming, FPV hold/toggle, HUD size and alternate color palettes. Switch option pages with LB/RB or Page Up/Page Down. B, Circle or Escape returns to the previous menu.

03 / BRING YOUR BACKUP

SAME SCREEN.
SHARED CHAOS.

Join a second player from the pause menu. For two controllers, choose that layout in Options → Controls → Co-op Input.

For keyboard/mouse plus one controller, choose that combination explicitly: the first pad is assigned to Bolt while Rook uses the keyboard and mouse. Auto keeps the first gamepad assigned to Rook.

Both players share the camera and team lives. Stay close enough to support each other; moving too far apart gradually slows outward movement.

04 / A FEW THINGS TO STAY IN ONE PIECE

TOOLS OF THE TRADE.

Always have a fallback.

Pickup weapons use the secondary slot. Swap back to the Vanguard or Sidearm for unlimited ammunition; an empty pickup weapon returns to it automatically. Weapon choice doesn’t slow your movement.

Take the high ground.

Tap the drone button to deploy or recall. Unlock FPV in the Armory to take manual control and use the live camera. Fire drops a grenade from your shared supply. Your operator is more vulnerable while you pilot. Recover a crashed drone by walking to its marked hull.

Borrow something armored.

Walk up to a Technical and press interact. Tap it again to get out. The left stick drives, the right stick aims the turret and the trigger fires. Keep an eye on fuel. A destroyed vehicle can damage either operator.

Clear the sky.

Defeat enemies to fill the support meter, then call a strike when it reads READY. It lands ahead in your aim direction. A NO AIR warning means you need to destroy the SAM fort first.

Read the battlefield.

Leave red warning zones before the strike lands. Breakable cover won’t protect you forever. Officers strengthen nearby enemies and Medics heal them; deal with those specialists early.

Wait for the opening.

The Breakwater Goliath’s armor won’t give way to ordinary body shots. Watch for its overheating warning, dodge the attacks and fire into the glowing core when the cooling shutters open. Its attacks accelerate below half health.

Your next run starts here.

Earn Requisition, unlock Armory equipment and try field upgrades. Purist is for a different kind of challenge: one hit is fatal and retries start at the beginning.
